What happens if I can't get back to
pick up my car on time?
If you want to alter the duration of the storage period in any
way that is no problem, just email or telephone us to let us know
of your change in plans.
Can I take my car out of storage for
day trips?
Yes. We do ask you to give us 48 hours notice but whenever possible
we try to accommodate customers requests.
Can I have my own mechanic maintain my
car whilst in storage?
No owner or mechanic maintenance is allowed within the building.
It may be possible for a visiting mechanic to work outside.
What is the largest size of vehicle that
can be securely stored?
Our weekly tariff covers vehicles up to 17 feet in length; anything
over this size is by quotation. There is a height restriction
of 6ft 6ins.
What is the minimum/maximum amount of time I can store for?
There is a three month minimum storage charge. There is no maximum storage period, and some vehicles have been with us since 1992!
Should I do anything to prepare my car for storage?
Road salt spray left on the underside of vehicles is likely to cause considerable damage. As this may not be visible to us please tell us if you believe your vehicle has been driven in salty conditions so we can arrange inspection and cleaning.
How many people will have access to my car whilst in storage?
There is no unaccompanied owner access to the cars at any time. Only Carlines staff are allowed to move vehicles whilst in storage.
Who provides the lock and who holds the key for the storage area?
Security is controlled solely by Carlines.

Are there any particular cars I cannot store securely?
Racing cars, motorcycles, tractors, camper vans, hard tops for
sports cars and even a body shell awaiting restoration can be
securely stored.
Can I leave my personal possessions in the car?
Many customers do leave personal possessions in their vehicles
whilst in storage. There is no need to remove items of value although
we do request that no food or perishable items remain in the cars.
Can you deliver my car to the airport?
We are very flexible and can arrange to transport the car or collect
you from the airport or any other venue such as Goodwood or Brands
Hatch.
Do you use carcoons?
As we operate micro processor controlled dehumidified storage
we have found that these are of no added benefit.
What do I need to do about my insurance
while my car is in storage?
Cars need to be insured for fire, theft and accidental damage
whilst in store. If you intend to retain your insurance you should
advise your existing broker / company that your vehicle is in
secure storage with Carlines. Alternatively we can arrange cover
through our insurance company for off road risk only.

of the drop off process - it really takes a huge amount of hassle
